This course combines lecture, demonstration, and extensive hands-on laboratory practice. Participants will learn what Deep Tissue Massage is, how it differs from traditional Swedish massage, and how to apply deeper techniques safely and effectively.
What You’ll Learn
The course begins with a lecture covering:
What Deep Tissue Massage is and how it differs from Swedish Massage
Indications and contraindications
Proper body mechanics and therapist positioning
When and how to incorporate deeper pressure and specific techniques
Clinical considerations for working with deeper musculature
Following the lecture, the instructor will provide hands-on demonstrations, followed by guided laboratory practice. The emphasis of this course is practical, hands-on learning, allowing participants to develop confidence in locating and working with deeper muscle tissue.
