The Contract and Relax Method is a specialized massage technique used to release tension, alleviate muscle tightness, and increase flexibility in targeted areas of the body. It is commonly used in sports massage, physical therapy, and rehabilitation settings to improve range of motion and address specific muscular imbalances.

This technique is particularly beneficial for addressing muscle tightness, trigger points, and adhesions. It can help to improve flexibility and reduce pain and discomfort caused by muscular imbalances. Moreover, the Contract and Relax Method promotes better circulation in the treated area, aiding in the removal of waste products and promoting healing. In this class we will also be incorporating Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) into our contract and relax techniques.

In this interactive hands-on BASIC Introductory class, you will learn:

1. Description of the Modality

2. Account of its historical development

3. Benefits & Contraindications

4. Specific techniques for basic training

Please wear comfortable flexible clothing.

Certificates of completion will be issued at the end of the class. Please use the name you want on your certificate when you register.

You Do NOT need to bring a table, we have plenty!

CEs only good for Pennsylvania Licensed Massage Therapists – CEs approved by the Pa State Board of Massage Therapy. This class will be with current massage students at the WIofCC however only licensed massage therapists will earn continuing education credits.
