Special populations in massage therapy refers to individuals with specific needs or conditions, such as pregnant women, infants, elderly individuals, athletes, or those with chronic illnesses. Massage therapists must adapt their techniques to address the unique requirements and considerations of these populations, ensuring safe and effective treatment tailored to their needs. This may involve modifications in pressure, positioning, or the use of specialized techniques to accommodate any physical limitations or health concerns and to ensure that the treatment is safe and appropriate.


In this interactive hands-on BASIC Introductory class, you will learn:

1. Description of the Modality

2. Account of its historical development

3. Benefits & Contraindications

4. Specific techniques for basic training

Please wear comfortable flexible clothing.

Certificates of completion will be issued at the end of the class. Please use the name you want on your certificate when you register.

You Do NOT need to bring a table, we have plenty!

CEs only good for Pennsylvania Licensed Massage Therapists – CEs approved by the Pa State Board of Massage Therapy. This class will be with current massage students at the WIofCC however only licensed massage therapists will earn continuing education credits.
